IRS Outreach

The purpose of this outreach is to discuss the IRS's common operating procedures and any issues / suggestions / questions from the Bankruptcy Attorney community. I believe opening the floor between our organizations for discussion will allow for better communication, assist in moving these cases along, and help us both better represent the taxpayers / clients. Additionally, the IRS has just approved a new DUT program (Document Upload Tool) that I will be presenting. This tool allows attorneys to upload any returns or documents necessary for their cases, and in turn, the assigned Bankruptcy Specialist can retrieve those documents and get them processed / filed. Staff are welcome.

Trey Young is a 6 year veteran who served in the Security Forces for the United States Air Force.  After his enlistment in the military he continued his service as a Corrections Officer for 4 years while he completed his Bachelors of Science Degree in Public Relations.  In 2009 he began his service as a Bankruptcy Specialist for the Internal Revenue Service where he continued his education and received his Juris Doctorate degree.  Trey has 3 children who he enjoys spending time with.  2 sons age 18 and 16 and a daughter age 3.  That’s right, he was almost done and started over.  His future ambitions are to continue his federal service through retirement then open his own law firm focusing on bankruptcy and intellectual property.
