2020 has seen unprecedented, court rules, legislation and executive orders regarding residential eviction actions. Most recently, the Center for Disease Control ordered a full eviction moratorium which could cover the majority of residents throughout the country. While the protections of this and other orders are currently allowing residents to not pay rent, their effects on bankruptcy practitioners will only start to be seen in 2021.
